Case Study
Server Consolidation / P2V Virtualization
Rather than replacing failed hardware hosting a fragile legacy line-of-business application, the environment was stabilized through a practical P2V migration onto virtualization.

Context
A client relied almost daily on a legacy line-of-business application running on failing physical hardware. The vendor was no longer supporting the product, but replacement was not immediately practical.
What We Did
- Performed a P2V migration to move the workload from fragile physical hardware onto a virtualized platform.
- Preserved the legacy application in a more maintainable environment instead of forcing an immediate replacement.
- Positioned the system for easier future hardware refreshes and lifecycle transitions.
- Established a platform that can be scaled with right-sized memory, CPU, and storage as needs change.
Result
Virtualization provided a quick and comparatively inexpensive stabilization path. It also created a longer-term foundation for maintainability and future options such as shared storage, clustering, resiliency, and disaster recovery improvements.
